Hallie DeHart (’18), founder of the thriving home décor and gift shop Chêne Blanc, has been recognized with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s 2025 GOLD Excellence Award, celebrating early-career alumni who achieve professional success and positively impact their communities.
DeHart’s entrepreneurial journey began at UTC, where she developed her passion for business and community leadership through the College of Business and mentorship from local business leaders. After graduation, she gained valuable corporate experience at McKee Foods, Unum and Sanofi, focusing on consumer insights and strategic marketing.
In 2020, DeHart opened Chêne Blanc in Ooltewah’s Cambridge Square, quickly establishing it as a hub for local artisans and community collaboration. The store offers a unique shopping experience featuring locally-made goods and personalized bridal registries, enhancing Chattanooga’s retail scene.
“It’s really cool to be acknowledged for all the hard work you’ve done,” DeHart said. “Sometimes you’re so busy doing the work that you don’t realize people see the impact.”
Beyond her store, DeHart actively contributes to local initiatives like CHI Memorial’s Pink Gala silent auction and Ooltewah’s bingo card campaign, embodying her commitment to supporting community-driven growth.
